Defeat to Victory

Wrinkled and stained, the carpet flew out of the room affectionately known as the "Old Nursery" today at the church I serve, Faith Christian Center.  After the carpet went away, so did the pad that went down, along with the old glue down that had been carpeted over some years ago.  The new stuff goes in tomorrow.

All of this is taking place to "redeem" a space for an additional usauable classroom.

The top layer of carpet seemed like a good idea at the time.  The old stuff was nasty, a sort of funky green color that was very popular for about fifteen minutes in the 1960's.  Unfortunately the material that was laid about seven years ago showed every spill and stain imaginable.  But that's ministry sometimes - and we sacrifice space and time for lives to be changed.

Jesus paid a great price for our sin on Calvary 2,000 years ago.  Think "priceless."

The cost for my sons and daughter to know Jesus?  For your grandchildren?  For our family and friends?

More than any of us could ever pay.  Jesus alone was qualified to purchase our redemption.

I'm so glad the cross was followed by an empty tomb.  We literally went from defeat to victory in a few days time.

How beautiful is the Lamb the God!
